Designed to supplement our basic CPR and first aid training, this supplemental course instructs students in the use of AEDs (Automated External Defibrillators) when responding to a person experiencing sudden cardiac arrest.
Sudden cardiac arrest is one of the leading causes of death in occupational settings, and defibrillators are the only definitive treatment. Used before the arrival of professional emergency-medical personnel, AEDs are a critical link in the chain of survival. This is because the first few minutes are absolutely critical for those experiencing sudden cardiac arrest.
The Self Services course has been designed to meet national medical guidelines for AED use and meets both state and national requirements for AED training.
The supplemental course offers the same easy-learning, low-stress environment of all Self Services courses, with outstanding student aids, including videos and printed student guides.
*Must be taken with Basic CPR & First Aid course.
